The Urban Photographer of the Year
will be the person who, in the eyes of the judges, has best captured the brief
to portray the life of a town or city at a given time of day. Whilst the
photograph does not necessarily have to be taken at that specific time of day,
it does need to look as though it was.
You can choose to photograph any
town or city at work worldwide. For example, a photograph could capture
London at 4am, Lisbon at 2pm, Dubai at 9pm and so on. You can enter a
photograph for each hour of the day, giving you a maximum of 24 photographs.
Please note that you can only submit one photograph for each hour of the day.
Eligibility to enter
To enter our competition you have to be over 16 years of age. Employees of CBRE, their associated companies and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition are not allowed to enter.How many photographs can I submit?
Each individual may submit one image for each hour of the competition (a maximum of 24 images). All images entered and subsequently shortlisted as finalists, will be considered for the ultimate prize of Urban Photographer of the Year, regardless of the hour that they are entered for.What size does the image have to be?
All images must be full size, high resolution and include digital mounting/background. Images need to be saved as a high quality JPEG. We are unable to accept any other format.The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright and all other rights in all images, which they enter. Images that have won prizes in other competitions are not eligible for this competition.
Important Dates
All images must be received between 16th April 2012 to midnight on the 30th June 2012.The website will open for entries at 00:01 on the 16th April 2012 and will no longer accept any entries after it has closed at midnight (00:00) on the 30th June 2012. Entries can only be made via the website.Notification of Winners
All winners will be notified by email in August 2012 and announced on the site in August 2012 once the winners have been notified.Cost of Entry
There is no cost to enter the competition. CBRE has sponsored this competition to allow all entries to be submitted without charge to you (other than your normal costs of using the internet).The Judging
All the judges are appointed by CBRE who reserve the right to change any judge without notice. The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Any competitor seeking to communicate directly with a judge on any matter whatsoever concerning the competition will be disqualified from the competition.more . .
